Paella and Flamenco evening
Celebrate New Spanish and Italian Courses with Paella and Flamenco
Spanish and Italian courses have proven so popular in Galway that the Language Institute at the Granary Learning Centre is starting a fresh round of courses beginning the week of March 15. To celebrate the new term an evening of Spanish Paella and Flamenco music is planned for Friday March 12, from 7 to 9pm and all are invited.
Spanish and Italian are by far the most popular languages studied at the Language Institute which also offers nine other languages including English and others from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Four levels of Spanish and Italian are now offered as the ability of new learners continues to grow and the capability of the school to provide more course opportunities increases. For example, the Institute is offering DELE exam preparation courses in Galway for the first time this term. DELE is the official achievement exam for Spanish language offered by the Cervantes Institute and recognised by the Spanish Government.
The Paella evening is the inspiration of Eloisa, the school’s most senior Spanish teacher who wanted to demonstrate the “proper” way to make Paella to her students. It seemed like such a good idea that the school decided to invite everyone to attend and to make a celebration out of it. So, the classical music of Flamenco has been added to give the evening the complete taste, sound, and feel of Spanish culture.
Tickets for the Paella evening can be obtained for the small cover charge of €5 at the Language Institute, 58 Dominick St, Galway. You can also ring on 091566759 or email at languageinstitute.ie to find out more about the Paella evening and the new Spanish and Italian courses.
